sylvester graham was an itinerant preacher turned health food utopian. He believed that sin had a correlation to the amount of meat, spices and con s one consumed. Graham would preach on the lecture circuit as well as near his new jersey home. His ideas would be modified by his followers, perhaps most famously at the western health reform institute in battle creek, michigan.
