What Is a Supernova?
A supernova is when a star starts to collapse. It's like an implosion and you get this shock wave that's traveling towards the center of the star. Huge amounts of light are released because you have a lot of fusion happening all at once. We're trying to understand what goes on inside it but modeling the process of a supernova is not something we're capable of yet.
