The Government's Plan to Stamp Out Taxi Malpractice
The government's automatic ETOL system is in operation at the cross-harpetonal. It won't be rolled out at the Western Tunnel until Friday and the Eastern Crossing towards the end of this month. A bill sent to lawmakers set out 11 existing taxi offences which carry punishments off up to six months in prison for some drivers. They include refills into a set to hire, overcharging and not taking the most direct route. The head of a body that represents the trade appealed to authorities to initially focus on the most serious offences.
