Successful investing demands a price, but its currency is not dollars and cents. Its volatility, fear, doubt, uncertainty and regret are easy to overlook until you're dealing with them in real time. Yen: My body suffered, my mind suffered, my relationships have suffered. The ultimate toll of all this was it compounded to me feeling really bad about myself. I almost loathed myself in a lot of ways. At one point early in the journey, i actually was sitting in a bathtub crying, feeling like the biggest loser on the planet.

The allure of getting rich quick is intoxicating.

It's even more intoxicating when you're trapped inside and it seems like all your friends have cashed in big.
