What Is a Tanky?
The term tanky goes back to 1956 when there were splits in the Communist Party over people who said that obviously it was a counter-revolution happening in Hungary. We now have evidence showing that that analysis is correct historically, whereas the people who opposed the operation called them tankies. So refers to this particular historical moment, and now it's just become such a bastardized term that it basically means anyone who criticizes US foreign policy as a tanky.
