You Wish You Were a Few Yards Younger?

The geologist in me would have enjoyed a six months stay on the space station, really living off planet for that longer period of time. To see that landscape with your own eyes is different than looking at satellite images or some other astronats photos. When when we did fly over it for the first time, very early in our first mission, i felt like all that intellectual stuff i had loaded into my braini snapped into a clearer focus. There's a depth of understanding and connection to the the situation, the environ you're in, that happens by being physically there.
