The Cobalt Mine in Idaho Is Closed
Cobalt is very critical for many battery chemistries that help power electric vehicles and those utility-scale batteries to make solar and wind projects just viable. Most of the world's cobalt is mined in the African country of the Congo, around 70 percent or so. Many of the miners in that country are children, no more than six years of age in some cases. The Idaho mine is not supported by any government.
