The Wreckage of the Cancun Aircraft
The wreckage was discovered by search aircraft on the morning of June 7th, 1992 in a densely forested jungle of Hilleen rugged terrain. Examination of the wreckage showed that the aircraft had broken up severely before impact with the ground. The cockpit lay on its right side on a heading approximately north and have been flattened about half its width by the impact forces. None of the leading edge, high lift devices were found in this area.
