i've thought a lot about heroes and what wed do with them. amy carmichael was one of my early heroes from childhood on. And i think that's one of the answers, is that when we find our heroes, we don't let them become mythic, perfect, idealized figures. We see their failures and their flaws as much as we see the good that they did. I'm still four years away from being officially a psychologist, and we're learning right now how to read research papers.
