Instead of giving your children advice, instead of coming in with your adult opinion on things, can you be the supportive counselor? Can you be the confidant? And then we'll keep coming to you if you allow them to be upset and you empathize. Then you move when it's time is right to probing questions so that you're going to help them understand all the ways in which they can make a decision.
