The Importance of Collaboration in a Design System

The mistake is not building the design system, but instead expecting people to look at the design system and understand it out of context. More often than not, your design system becomes a mirror of the way your team already works. And you also need to understand the underlying task to understand why the developer wants to do it differently - which may be what you actually want to do in the end. It's still collaboration, but it's a different way of... It's a different angle to it.
