Do You Know Which Way an Owl Turns Its Head?

Owls have back up arteries, which offer a fresh supply of nutrients when blood vessels get closed off by rapid turning. Their arteries also swell to collect any excess blood created in the process. The vertebrae usually have two tiny holes called the transverse foramen. These are what the arteries go through to travel up the neck to supply blood along the neck and up to the brain. They're basically cable ties along the spine that like your arteries go through.
