The Dollar Is the World Currency
A lot of countries either implicitly or explicitly linked to the dollar in some fashion. Financial assets are disproportionately denominated in US dollars. High income countries, the dollar affects them, but they're much more hedged against this type of risk. The good news is that the strong dollar has affected countries where it doesn't matter so much.
