The German Federal Police Have Now Opened Up the E-Gates to Permanent Residents
The German Federal Police have opened up the e-gates at eight international airports to permanent residents who are resident in the country. To be able to use it now you have to be already you could use it if you were EU, European economic area or Swiss citizen that was at least 12 years old. There's also a sort of weird extra system before where travellers from the USA, Hong Kong, South Korea and Taiwan could pre-register to use the system. The idea behind that is kind of that it's a reciprocal from things like global entry in the US but it's not very widely used as far as I'm aware.
