What's Happening to the Ozone Layer?
Ozone is increasing in the southern mid-latitudes, in the tropics and in the northern mid-latitude. The problem is that chlorofluorocarbons have very, very long lifetimes. By 2040, based on current levels, the ozone layer will be back to the 1980s levels.
