Is Germany a Leader in Europe?
I think it's something that is really occupying many people in Berlin as this idea of what is leadership, right? It's something that Germany's allies will say often that they want more leadership from Germany. But there's not a lot of domestic support for the city of Germany being a military leader in Europe. I don't think that Germany growing up necessarily means that we have to become like the UK or become like France in terms of our military policy. What I do think it means is that we haveto live up to the commitments and the pledges that we've made in NATO and in the EU - which we haven't done for years.
