Discipline Is the Result of Compassion and Love
True discipline is the result of compassion and love. The loving father will not allow a sort of false empathy for his son to prevent him from exercising such discipline. In colossians chapter two, paul has been hiliting the futility of turning back to the elementary principles and powers of the old age of the flesh. Death releases us from the powers and the principles that once governed us in the realm where we formerly lived.
