The Coherence of Dominican Life

Dominican life is sort of complex, as St. Thomas Aquinas described it: the mixed life that we're going quickly between contemplation and study but also apostolic preaching. I think our novice master on our vestician retreat described Dominican life as being one intention; when the friar is in the priory, he has this desire to be out preaching,. When he's out preaching, he has the desire to be back home praying and studying with his brothers. So if that spirituality, then that's Dominican spirituality, but I'm not sure that it is.
