The Mental Gymnastics of the Pirelli Grand Prix
The race started at midnight for me and I was expecting to be in bed, you know, around 1.30 maybe 2 at the latest. Then with all of these red flags and restarts and ridiculous rulings I did not get to sleep until 3 a.m. But it was fun because honestly I genuinely think the beginning of that Grand Prix was just as good as any typically good race weekend. It's really the core of what F1 has been in the Pirelli era. The tyres were probably a step too hard to make that a genuinely intriguing thing but it's still enjoyable.
