The map that she made was a huge transformation for understanding the geology of planet earth. As you walk out deeper and deeper, the light goes away. And so it's mostly sand mud all theway out until you get close to the peak of a mid ocean ridge. Then the rocks will change because there'll be lava floes covering the sea floor instead of this mud.
