And we tend to find them in the forest on wood that's already severely decayed. It also makes me wonder why not all what i see is spalted. Or maybe it is in some way, but other fungy could have gotten there. Fora ones that don't make color. Ah, it could have. I mean, if it's lumber, if you cut it and dry it, then there's no fongal colonization. But in the woods, unless a tree has just fallen down, it's got fungy
