The Problem With the Deviation Rule
UCI rules state that riders cannot deviate from the lane they selected when launching into a sprint in so doing and dangering others. The problem with this rule as well is that what is endangering someone? Phillipsen doesn't endanger Benji on because he stops sprinting. But that's stupid. If you have to adjust your behavior in the sprint to avoid crashing, because someone's deviated into you, you have been endangered Because you are literally like you're avoiding danger. Yes, that will change behavior.
