What's the Problem With Thomas Solswa's Conservatism?

Soll has written volumes about the existence of racial discrimination. He's never argued that racial discrimination doesn't exist. Soll traces these ideas back at least two centuries, to the thinking of people like william godwin and rousseau. People with a constrained vision of human nature see mankind as hopelessly flawed. And then on the other side, he says, we have those unconstrained visions, which reject the idea that there are limits to human betterment.
