You've got to promote your own self-care strategies. Engage in those calming activities that work for you. Maintain a healthy diet as best you can. Encourage the autistic person in your life to express themselves creatively through art or music, whatever form of creative outlet helps them. Incorporate movement and physical activity as a coping strategy for managing grief. For some it might be practicing relaxation techniques. That will help autistic people process their emotions.
