The Evolution of Mysticism in the Late Antiquity
Free will, for instance, had been put squarely at the center of the Latin Christian philosophical tradition thanks to patristic authors. Another Augustinian theme of perennial importance was the nature of knowledge. Like Muslims and Jews in the medieval period, the Latin Christians also saw the development of a mystical tradition which offered a path to go beyond those limitations.
