Is There a Gateway to the Universal?
There's a certain safety that the small Jesus world provides in that I can live my nice life, have my nice things and give those nice things to my nice kids. But then I can ignore what's actually happening in our world right now. And that appears to be the majority of Christianity in every country, not just ours. When a group that calls us Christians kind of huckers down and draws a clear distinction, there's no gateway to the universal. We made him into a wall, into a hardened silo, more than a gate.
