The Differential Process for Diagnosis

Hippos gravitat toward environments with aquatic elements near by. Both rhinos and elephants have horns or tusks but the material in a rhino is more like our finger nails, while the tusk of the elephant is made of material closer to our teeth. Of course, an elephant has that distinctive trunk, not found in the other creatures. So this process is the differential process. If we're only seeing a few elements at first, we do detective work and say, what other creatures or diagnoses in this state have these same features?
