The idea that we cannot pray to the christians in heaven, i would say, is not only a minority, fringe view, it's also a novel view. The book of revelation might be a mysterious book, but that doesn't mean it's not coherent or interpretable. And if you look at the earliest christians there's no objection to praying to the saints and prayers to angels,.
