Mark Whitaker takes a percentage of his paycheck every month and puts it in a different bank account that's got its own debit card. His wife is an enabler, he says: "You can afford to just buy what you want" The money keeps him from being too much of a tight-wad or trying to cut corners by buying the cheaper thing. It also allows him to do things like buy unsexy things like power supplies and hard drive space.
