Pete Krieg: I've been working on issues relating to sort of men and behavior and male experiences for a number of years. So i did a lengthy, like two year study of men in the war scape of the eastern democratic republic of congo. It was fascinating to look at how these soldiers had mostly been incorporated into the army,. you have a lot of different rebel groups in a place like eastern congo. And then the structures within the army are really, really sub standard.
