What Do You Think China Is Taking From the Summit?
I think it's a success. Whether these commitments are met with all of these newly introduced initiatives actually happening, that's for another day. China has never been about competition in this relationship with Africa. The US is now having abandoned the continent for a long time, simply coming back and trying to disrupt Africa's relationship with China. I'm not a huge fan of Johnny Carson because he's from a different era. He's a cold warrior. So I don't think he's the right person because of that. But at the end of the day, too, I know out here in Asia, you don't send junior diplomats to China. You don't sent junior diplomats to the Middle East
