The Import Concept of Encoding

How do we make this skill of identifying important concepts in the domain and encoding them into your program? How do we make that teachable? And one thing that I think is important is to be able to evaluate a given domain model to see if it really is giving you what you need. So fit is one of the ideas I have. Fit as a quality that you can take a conceptual model and the domain model and check them for fit. Does this encoding really fit the domain? It's really fit the conceptual model.
