In this special edition of Revitalize and Replant, Mark Clifton addresses the upcoming vote on the Law Amendment at the SBC Annual Meeting in Indianapolis this June.
Here are some highlights:
- The Law Amendment (which states that a church cannot be in friendly cooperation if they have any female staff member with the title of pastor – children’s pastor, worship pastor, etc.)
- The amendment passed last year in New Orleans, but it must pass again this year in Indianapolis in order to become a part of the SBC constitution.
- There are good folks on both sides of this debate. We must treat one another with grace and love, even when we disagree.
- A brief history of the Baptist Faith & Message and how we arrived at this point.
- An balanced analysis of what might happen if the amendment does – and does not – pass.
- The importance of praying, “Lord Jesus, what would you have us do with the Southern Baptist Convention?”
