The Crucifixion of Simon
Simon could be seen as a type for like the universal brotherhood of man. In some interpretations, Simon's act of carrying the cross is seen as a symbolic act of redemption and salvation. Jesus even said, if you're going to follow me, you must carry your cross. And in this circumstance, Simon carries Jesus'.
