The Three Major Functions of Death in Roguelike
I wanted to think about what happens when a player dies at a rogue. I saw three major functions for this after-death moment which were okay you can explore lore and theme and you know everything narrative about the game within that moment. Then there's classical function which is sort of how do you get better at games well by looking at how you die, trying to learn from how you die and then the last one the storytelling which is hilarious and great and wonderful. Just like everything I love about roguelike communities is just celebrating failure more than ever.
