Jim Baker and Tammy Faye Baker

In 1987, reports surfaced that Jim Baker and fellow preacher John Wesley Fletcher contacted a 21 year old church secretary named Jessica Han to hire her for a babysitting job in Florida. The report states that while at the hotel, the two preaches drugged Jessica Han and raped her for 15 minutes. She was then forced to sign a statement denying the attack and was paid $265,000 in hush money from PTL's funds. Two months later, Jim Baker was defrocked by the assemblies of God and the PTL ministry filed for bankruptcy. Other televangelists from around the country jockey to fill the vacuum that Baker's absence had created in the industry.
