I hear stories about just people really only learning for the grade, not actually learning for the sake of the learning in itself. I've come to direct experience with exactly what you're describing at Cornell. My head was very opposed to traditional university structures but that's what he was forced to do. And credits were made smaller, essentially made easier to pass or fail people. Most third world countries are doing the same. They make sure that you can either pass or fail it,. Like there's an obvious pass or fail line rather than this blurry. Well, you know some stuff, but you don't know some stuff over here.
