The Artown Versus the Three Musketeers

In 1901, Sarah Oran Jewett becomes the first woman to receive an honorary doctorate from Bowdoin College. In 1902, she is injured in a carriage accident on her birthday and remains incapacitated for the rest of her life. On June 24th in 1909, she dies, she suffers from a series of strokes and that finally kills her. We will be going to Maine to visit her family homes, which are now part of a museum.
