CIA chief John Defterios says the intelligence community needs to do a better job of anticipating or imagining unknowns. The agency is working with DARPA, OSI and IQARPA on big data analytics programs that can predict events in real-time. This could lead to new tools like those used by S&T for predicting public sentiment about upcoming elections such as Brazil's this year.
