Histius of Meledus and the Persian Army in Sardis
Megabassus was leading the Persian army back to Sardis, presumably with the peyonian women and children still. He learned that Histius of Meledus was building fortifications along with Strime and River at Mirkenos. Darius expressed his concerns for what Histius was doing in Thrace. Herodis reports that Faratime soon afterwards died of worms, which teamed her body and crawled out from it,. While she still lived, because the gods punished her for executing vengeance so violently and excessively.
