The Importance of Complexity in Consciousness
I would say that the complexification process is it might not be the root of consciousness, but it is the mechanism by means of which the depth of qualia becomes increased. With greater complexity comes the ability perhaps greater valence as a result of that. But this is the question I wanted to ask you: Is it better because we're doing it, we're exploring the is ought element here, right? Or would it be better to just suffer less in which case it would be better to be more like mind dust or hydrogen?
