There's been discussion, as we look at the anniversary of this albam's release, about was it considered, was it perceived, political at the time? And carol, generally, in the ew interviews she deigns to give, she doesn't talk much. She lets the work speak, generally says, i wasn't thinking politically. But i've seen quotes where you know it was political for a woman to be a talking about family and friendship and loyalty and trust a and giving other women a sense of empowerment all these years later.
