Many advisors that take your money under a management fee, you give them a lump sum of money. They get to buy anything they want with you and what's happening is they get a percentage of what's there. Normally, they have discretion. But if you just have an account with a financial advisor that you aren't paying an annual fee for like 1% a year to manage your money and you're just there just buying and selling and getting commission to do so every time they make a buy or a sell, that is not right and that you should change.
