In 2020, the Supreme Court heard a case called Boss Seckley Clayton County. It asked whether discrimination against somebody on the basis of their sexual orientation and their gender identity is sex discrimination. The ACLU won this case 6-3 from the Supreme Court. In 2023 we're nearly 500 pieces of legislation that have been introduced in state houses squarely targeting queer folks broadly but mostly transgender people or youth.
