Is There a Forgiveness in the Parable of the Talents?

Parables are a kind of metaphor, and metaphors have limits. There is not an equivalent of penance that the master asks the, the servant who's forgiven to to engage in. God's willing to forgive you if you're merciful to others. And the point that jesus is making in the parable is that god will forgive you even enormous amounts.
