Why You Shouldn't Analyze Your Growth Metrics
Growth and monetization is not always the same thing. You don't want to have multiple growth metrics. You want to have one growth metric. In eBay, in order for you to grow, if eBay grows the GMV, it means that it's growing both users, both kind of users, buyers and sellers. And same thing for Visa. So this is why it's not always the case that the growth metrics in terms of users or units that you sell or stuff like that. It could happen. I think it's rare. Usually you need to decide on what is your growth metric pretty early in the process. Now if you chose the wrong one you should definitely change it.
