i think we use our culture to solve problems that we face. And in the 19 forties and the 19 thirties, we faced some pretty big challenges,. We created a very group oriented culture which you could summarize with the phrase, we're all in this together. Starting about 19 62, people began to rebel out of that. They wanted something that spelt more open, that gave them more freedom. It was built around autonomy and individualism. The individual self was the fundamental unit of society.
