There is a lot going on in this book. There is yed, and i have the threads ye this so many threadsan have annotated. But she gets the mask, it's essentially overton corrupted her and possessed her. And through her own sheer will, every time she puts on the mask, she basically surrenders her body and her mind and her actions over to this dead sif lord that used to exist hundreds or thousands of years ago.
