The Problem With Electron

Jay Parini: I think the problem with electron is that it's unnecessary in terms of what we don't have better tools. Every browser is Chrome now, right? So except for Safari and Safari is close enough to Chrome that it doesn't matter. And so if you just use the operating system web view, you would ship something that weighs in at kilobytes rather than at hundreds of megabytes. But hey, this is a development tool. We are talking about people who download ExCO. It's an aside thing. I'm just saying it's out there. I'm looking forward to it.
