The Risk of Ruin
In in investing we have something we call like a risk of ruin right you know the idea that you blow up and go to zero. If you could just get to the long run and deal with the volatility you will have effectively infinite wealth if you can avoid blowing up. i think when humans were primitive species and we're just dealing with like sticks and stones and stuff like we couldn't nuke ourselves right now we literally can actually nuke ourselves but we're also rapidly developing other technology that can effectively metaphorically nuke us in a particular way. I see humanity as very poorly equipped to deal with these sort of say like six or seven sigma events that in finance wipe out all your money
